About Colonial
Candy Shoppe |
Welcome to Colonial Candy Shoppe!
Colonial Candy Shoppe opened in Olentangy
Village in 1966. Our family has operated
Colonial Candy since 1983. Being an
independent retail candy shop means we
freely choose the chocolates and candies we
offer. We strive offer a mix of fine
chocolates and unique candies. We respond to
customers’ requests by searching for
candies, expanding our inventory, and
accepting special-orders.
Ben Heggy’s Fine Chocolates
Colonial Candy Shoppe has always
featured Ben Heggy’s Chocolates. Around
1930, Ben Heggy started making candy in
Canton. There, Heggy ran a restaurant and
sweet shop catering to students at the
nearby McKinley High School. After 1950, he
focused his energies exclusively to making
candy. Heggy’s chocolates are still made in
in downtown Canton. Heggy's chocolates are
all individually-wrapped, a trait unique to
Ohio candy-makers. Many of their candies are
still hand-formed and hand wrapped. Many of
our customers enjoy telling us about growing
up with their family tradition of enjoying
Ben Heggy’s chocolates.
Special Events and Promotions
We are happy to work with you for your
special event. We can help you with special
colors, flavors and shapes. We can also help
with personalized items for businesses,
weddings, reunions and other occasions.
Quality and Value
As you shop for chocolates, you’ll find
variation in pricing. Pre-boxed packages at
large retailers may cost much less, and
gold-trimmed boxes in other places may cost
much more. We encourage you to consider
quality, selection and service when making
your purchase.
We’re sure you’ll agree: Value
is not about what you pay, but what you are
paying for.
Thank you for visiting and please come
again!
